I bought this pair of headphones following in depth study and reading on websites and forums around the internet. Eventually, I chose these determined by the fact that A) They are able to intestine out the bass, B) They may be loud, C) They are able to sound rather very good, D) They attenuate in/out noise, E) They existing music in an "exciting" manner.

Once they first arrived, I decided to hook them as much as some large bass tracks and left them at a lower quantity to get a couple hrs. Then I turned the amount up and allow them to go having a quite bassy track on repeat for 30 hours. Following this, I listened (as objectively as achievable) and observed they were quite balanced sounding.

As I listened to many diverse kinds of music, I discovered these to become pretty great sounding, besides I had a dilemma: The bass seemed fairly weak.

So, what did I do? Nicely! At the time I was powering them with my portable radio, which acquired them loud, but the bass was missing. In fact, Frankenstein by the Edgar Winters Group was taking part in and I turned it as much as make the sound fuller. An individual had me get them off my head and everybody within the place could clearly listen to the music.

Even though these headphones could be loud, they appear quite lacking in bass (but I am a basshead). This led to me building a headphone amplifier, called a CMoy. The unique design is a simple amplifier that just takes a sign in and provides power for that headphones. I modified the style as an alternative and added a bass-boost circuit into it, which adds more and far more bass starting at around 70hz (3dB boost) and tops out having a whopping 25dB increase at 23hz, going back down right after that.

Afterwards, I hooked it up to my portable radio with the bass increase off, and by now noticed a bass improvement. Having said that, it was even far better using the increase on. Off of a cd participant, these headphones also sounded fairly excellent. Having said that, I am not positive if it's the amplifier or headphones, however the headphones can't appear to handle much bass without sounding dirty (once more, it might be the amplifier). I usually don't push the headphones louder than 100mV, or 400mV for bass. I hear to a whole lot of steel on these plus they do a great work, as well as the bass isn't as well poor possibly.

Off of my A/V receiver (Pioneer Elite), these also sound excellent, however the bass nonetheless appears to have limits.

General, these headphones are terrific, but they might be light on bass (for a basshead), but otherwise sound pretty balanced. They don't appear fairly as delicate as they are saying they're. Highly suggested for that cost plus the sound is fairly very good. Classical music sounds great also. An amp isn't generally required, except for bass-heavy music.
